In this post, I will discuss a bit about what it's database. For more detail, let us look at the picture below.
In the picture above, a filing cabinet is the basis or place, while the employees, purchasing, production and sale of the data. So the database can be inferred a data storage medium. Where in the cabinet, the data is laid out neatly.
So, the System Database are:
The set of group data (files) that are interconnected are organized in such a way that can later be used again quickly and easily
A collection of related data stored together and without repetition (redundancy) is not necessary, to meet the various needs
Collection of files / tables / archives interconnected stored in electronic storage media.
Not all forms of electronic data storage (computer) can be called a database. We can save the document contains data in text files (with word processing programs), but can not be called as a database. Because in it there is no sorting & grouping data according to the type / function will complicate the search data so that data later.
The highly featured in the database is a setting / sorting / grouping / organization of data that we will save according to the function / type. Sorting / grouping / organization can form a number of files / separate tables or in the form of defining kolom-kolom/field-field data in each file / table.
