In this post, I will discuss about Understanding Executive Information System (EIS). A system that created just for executive management only. For understanding their own Information Systems I have discussed in previous posts.
Understanding Executive Information System (EIS) is a system created just for use by the Executive or Top Level Management within an organization or company. Where in this system only displays graphs and reports from all business processes in an organization or company. In this information system, there is something that should be exist in EIS where another system is not. Like drill down feature, What if Analysis, etc.
The Executive Information System capabilities are as follows:

- Having the ability to analyze data.
- Having an organizing tool.
At an Executive Information System, there are several components that make up the system. Executive Information System Components Here there are a few things, namely:
- Hardware
- Software
- User Interface
- Telecommunication
It would be nice if the SIE is using touch screen technology. Due to create convenience for the executives. The mindset of the makers of this system, a person who does not know about the application system at all. Display or system interface design must be made with a very easy and simple, so that a layman knows how to use this system without having to do any training. Since the purpose of making the EIS is based on the rapid development of information and it needs a special system for executives.
Thus, Characteristic of Executive Information System is made as easy as possible and as simple as possible. And that's the paradigm that distinguishes this EIS with the other systems.
